My life on a leash .,., or .,., How asbestos changed my life

      Back in the eighties, it was common to go into buildings that were built in the fifties and sixties, and gut the interior, so that new walls and ceilings could be installed, using modern construction materials and techniques. I worked for an outfit that did just that. We would breathe the dust in the air, like a badge of manhood. Who could stand it the longest, without going out for some fresh air. I was a lead man, or foreman, so I had to stay at it, or get in trouble with the big bosses. These buildings were insulated with materials rich in asbestos fibers.
